Thailand and France share a tradition and passion for puppetry. Although the Guignol français celebrates 200 years, in France this year, there is a new generation of artists that is completely revamping and revolutionising the art of puppetry. One of the most innovative genres is undoubtedly the object theatre. Puppets are replaced by objects, for the most part restored and used in ways other than their original purpose and it is the talent of the puppeteer that does the rest. There are several object theatre companies in France among which figure the Theatre de Cuisine or Turak Theatre but Aie Aie Aie is one of the youngest.
